well, we have now arrived in mexico city and it is certainly all you could expect it to be. the streets are full of colour, the people friendly and the food and beer fantastic.
but first a wrap up of all that was the "OC". Yes, orange county, what fun we had! Highlight of course was the wedding of Simon and Sinead (check out the photos). What a great day, a great setting and a great time!
Highlights of the day:
1. Getting the hair done ... certainly proved that americans just dont like to listen. the lady (jollene) that did my hair asked at least a good dozen or so times which hotel we were staying in. she couldn´t seem to grasp the concept that we were in a "condo" and not a hotel at all (not to mntion how bad it was that we didn{t hae an ocean view).
2. the service ... you couldn´t ask for a better american setting than the californian coast line - it was just perfect. Sinead looked as all brides should, and Simon was as happy as always!
3. the reception ... was at Sinead´s sisters place, and it was just great (well done to all). aside from a slight altercation with the dj for going away from the playlist with a round of Shakira, all was good!
4. the after party ... well, in true form, Colm, Jules, Carl and I decided that we needed to kick on and keep going for a bit longer. Lets just say - it was ... interesting. We certaily met some strange and interesting characters. Found out that you can´t order Vodka Lime and Soda in that country, and that Jules and I know all that there is to know about surf breaks in Australia - just ask us, you might mistake us for professional surfers!! Oh yes, and then there was me, in the servo while Colm was in getting more beer (which we really didnt need at that point) insulting some poor american guy about the size of his ... car. yes, apparently i took it upon myself to educate the poor lad on the size of american cars and how inadequate his was in comparisson, still ended up with his business card - just in case i need a drunmmer, so all was not lost.
5. the aftermarth ... lets just say it wasnt a highlight, but reminded us all hjust how much fun we had the night before.
On america itself. As said in earlier blogs - it is what you think it is - big and loud with a donut shop on just about every corner. managed to drive on the wrong side fo the car on the wrong side of the road (well done me - that was indeed fun)
so that about sums it up. photos are being uploaded.
enjoy
